Winner of both the Grand Jury Prize (Drama) and the Audience Award (Drama) at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, the film tells the story of 8-year-old Josephine (newcomer Mason Reeves) who accidentally witnesses a violent assault while briefly separated from her father in the park. Traumatized and not fully understanding what she saw, she is also torn between her parents (played by Gemma Chan and Channing Tatum) and their vastly different approaches to protecting and supporting her. Moving, infuriating, and often devastating, JOSEPHINE sensitively poses profound questions about how society and individuals deal with victims and all the repercussions of violence.
