Aspen Film is honored to present PosterFest 22! PosterFest will be a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Aspen’s Isis Theatre history, find a rare gem of movie memorabilia or snap up a poster embellished by a local artist, all in support of Aspen Film.
The idea for PosterFest was sparked when Aspen Film received an incredibly generous gift from Dominic Linza and the Linza family. The Linzas owned and ran the Isis theater in Aspen from 1968 through 1998, and in 2022 decided to donate nearly 30 years of original movie posters from films that were shown at the theater, to Aspen Film. Their collection was gifted specifically to help Aspen Film’s fundraising efforts.
Works will be displayed in the Bar Lobby of the Wheeler Opera House 30 minutes prior to each screening and will only be available to ticketed patrons. Available posters include:
- RARE ORIGINAL + AUTOGRAPHED POSTERS: A selection of original movie posters donated by the Linza Family, as well as a special selection very graciously donated by George Sells of the Omnibus Gallery, will be autographed by stars from several of the actual films.
- ARTIST EMBELLISHED POSTERS: Aspen Film is grateful to have the support of our local artist community. Artist embellished works include pieces by: Judy Haas, Paul Pascarella, Jody Guralnick, Gabrielle Rafelson, Kathy Honea, Richard Carter, and Shelly Marolt.
Autographed originals, rare editions and original artist embellished posters, will range in price from $100 to $5,000, with all proceeds going towards Aspen Film. These works will be sold in person, and online ONLY during the week of ACADEMY SCREENINGS.
