DINNER & A MOVIE

Saturday, December 19 | 6 PM

Get ready to cook for a cause! Aspen Film is partnering with Mixn Match and Laws Whiskey to present a virtual Dinner & a Movie event to benefit our FilmEducates program. The goal of FilmEducates is to immerse young people throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond in film, and to appreciate the medium as a means of personal expression, and a way to facilitate dialogue and connection.

The evening will begin promptly at 6 PM when you log into Zoom to join the event. You will be greeted by Chef Biju, our host for the evening, and will then be treated to a demonstration on the preparation of your Old Chai Wallah cocktail by an official Laws Whiskey mixologist.

Once you have your cocktail in hand, the cooking portion of the evening will commence. The main course being prepared is a Baked Indian Biryani rice dish. You have the option to add Chicken or Vegan meatless meatballs as your protein.

If you purchase the Premium Roaring Fork Valley Local Package, you will make your protein selection when you purchase your ticket. If you purchase the VIP Cooking Experience ticket, you will be provided a grocery list and can choose your protein when you purchase your ingredients.

ABOUT THE FILM

Starring Academy Award® winner Helen Mirren, produced by Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake, and directed by Lasse Hallström, this uplifting story bursts with flavor, passion and heart. When the chilly chef proprietress of a Michelin-starred French restaurant in southern France (Mirren) gets wind of a culinary immigrant opening an Indian restaurant just 100 feet from her own, her icy protests escalate to all-out war between the two establishments. It’s a celebration of triumph over exile as these two worlds collide and one young man tries to find the comfort of home in every pot — wherever he may be.
