Kim Reichhelm: professional ski pioneer and inspiring athlete.
Kim began skiing at age three and attended Stratton Mountain School, where she recently delivered the commencement address. After competing on the U.S. Ski Team in the late 70s, she became an NCAA All-American at the University of Colorado, leading her team to a national title. She later joined the Women’s Professional Ski Racing Tour during its mid-80s peak.
Transitioning to big-mountain skiing, Kim became a two-time World Extreme Skiing Champion. She remains the only skier to win the World, North American, and South American Extreme titles in one season. Her icon status was cemented by Greg Stump’s film License to Thrill and a guest spot on Late Night with David Letterman.
For over 35 years, Kim has empowered skiers through ‘Ski With Kim* adventures in destinations like Japan, Alaska, Greenland, and Chile.
Named one of the “Most Influential Skiers of All Time” by Skiing Magazine, she is a fierce advocate for women in sports. Leveraging her athletic background, Kim works with corporate groups, and is a public speaker on different topics like overcoming fear, and leadership, and resilience and confidence.
A seasoned media personality, Kim worked in broadcasting on ESPN for ten years as well as TV appearances on FOX, and NBC.
Today, she splits her time between Aspen and an off-the-grid home in Baja. An avid multi-sport athlete, she spends her off-seasons fly fishing and surfing, maintaining the high-energy lifestyle that defined her legendary skiing career.
