The film “Unstoppable,” which will be released in U.S. theaters in December, tells the story of Anthony Robles. Born with one leg, he became one of the country’s top wrestlers, winning a national championship in 2011 while at Arizona State.

His 2013 book, “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion,” is the basis for the film, which was shown on Friday night as part of Aspen Film’s 45th annual Filmfest at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre.

Jharrel Jerome, of “When They See Us” fame, plays Robles in the film. Jennifer Lopez, playing Robles’ mother, as well as Don Cheadle and Michael Pena are part of the cast. Directed by William Goldenberg, the film was produced by the studio co-owned by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Artists Equity.

Prior to the film’s showing on Friday in Aspen, Robles joined Challenge Aspen for a short archery session near Basalt. He was in town for Filmfest, part of his larger media tour to promote the film.
