In 32 seconds, show us how you are Independent by Nature! The way you express yourself as independent and free — how you move, what you think, how you feel. Keep it authentic, appropriate, and applicable to the spirit of the challenge. All ages are welcome to submit.
Videos are collected from March 2 – April 2 using the hashtags #independentbynature2023 and tag @aspenfilm on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or by submitting via email. A compilation reel of the top videos, chosen by Aspen Film staff and a committee of students, will be shared on Aspen Film’s channels and voted on during Aspen Shortsfest (April 10 – 16).

By participating in Aspen Film’s Independent By Nature :32 Video Challenge Video Campaign, participants hereby grant Aspen Film subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted video in any and all media on Aspen Film social media accounts. The rights granted to Aspen Film include, but are not limited to, the right to censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, affix logos to, and to otherwise alter or make use of the submitted video. In addition, by submitting a video to the competition, participants hereby represent and warrant that the submitted video does not and shall not infringe on any copyright or other right of any third party, and participants have the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to Aspen Film herein, including but not limited to all necessary rights under copyright, free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
