ASPEN FILM AND THE WHEELER OPERA HOUSE TO PRESENT FREE FAMILY HOLIDAY FILM “THE POLAR EXPRESS”
November 25, 2019
Aspen, CO (November 25, 2019): Aspen Film and the Wheeler Opera House will present the modern holiday favorite THE POLAR EXPRESS on Friday, December 20 at 5:30 PM. Admission to the film is free but in the spirit of the holidays, Aspen Film and the Wheeler are asking for either a food donation to LIFT UP or a toy donation to PATHFINDERS. Red Butte Roasters Coffee and Paradise Bakery will provide free refreshments at the event.
About the film: Late on Christmas Eve, after the town has gone to sleep, a boy boards the mysterious train that waits for him—THE POLAR EXPRESS. When the boy arrives at the North Pole, Santa Claus offers him any gift he desires. The boy asks only for a bell from the harness of Santa’s reindeer. But on the way home, the bell is lost. Christmas morning, the boy finds the bell under the Christmas tree, and when he shakes it, the bell makes the most beautiful sound he’s ever heard. His mother admires the bell, but she laments that it is broken … for, you see, only a true believer can hear the sound of the bell.
LIFT UP is a non-profit dedicated to providing humanitarian essentials while creating a bridge to personal empowerment and self-reliance.
PATHFINDERS provides low cost counseling for adults and children dealing with the loss of someone they loved or have a loved one with a serious illness. We work in the schools throughout our Valley with children struggling with these issues. Support a child dealing with illness or grief and loss within their lives. Bring a toy or donation for Pathfinders and we will pass the toys onto the schools where we are counseling in our Valley. Any donations will go towards helping to pay for counseling or buying a special game for these children in need.
