Having enjoyed tremendous success with Gloria in 2013, renowned Chilean actress Paulina Garcia has teamed once again with Argentinian directors Cecilia Atán and Valeria Pivato to tell a beautiful story about 24 transformational hours in the life of one woman. Garcia plays unassuming Teresa, who, after 30 years working as a maid for the same family is let go due to changing family fortunes, and sent to work for relatives on the other side of Argentina.  On her first day of travel, an impending storm means that Teresa mistakenly leaves her bag in the truck of a traveling salesman name “El Gringo” whom she locates, but forcing them to retrace his “stops” to find her bag. A small, intimate story set against an austere, powerful landscape, The Desert Bride is a nuanced, cinematic chamber piece, beautifully told and emotionally rewarding. (Argentina, Chile, 2017)
