ASPEN FILM ANNOUNCES VIRTUAL VERSION OF
29TH ANNUAL SHORTSFEST
An innovative, cutting-edge, virtual version of this year’s Shortsfest will be presented online during the originally scheduled dates of March 31-April 5, 2020. By partnering with Paris-based Festival Scope, whose platform is a preeminent service in the film industry, Aspen Film will be able to preserve the Oscar®-qualifying festival in a unique and innovative way.
How It Works:
The online festival will be a limited-time event, just like the traditional festival, for which viewers will be able to purchase special access codes to screen programs of the selected films. Access will be limited to viewers in the United States and films will only be screened within curated programs rather than individually. Viewers will receive a unique link to each program purchased for a one-time viewing. Festival Scope is compatible with the latest versions of Internet browsers (Firefox 43 and+, Internet Explorer 11 and+, Chrome 48 and+, Safari 10 and+), though Chrome is best recommended, and is supported on both iOS and Android devices.
Purchase Tickets/Access Codes:
Tickets/Access Codes can be purchased now through Sunday, April 5 at 6 pm MST. Individual programs are $10 ($7.50 for Aspen Film members) each, or the full festival of nine programs is $75 ($60 for Aspen Film members) through the Wheeler Opera House’s Aspen Show Tix at AspenShowTix.com.
**Due to the Pitkin County Shelter-in-Place Order, phone service is only available by leaving a voicemail at 970-920-5770. Calls will be returned in the order they were received Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00pm MT. Priority will be given to Aspen Film ShortsFest Virtual Version callers.
Advance purchase is recommended as there is a limited number of codes available per program.
