Shortsfest has been referred to as “the crown jewel” of Aspen Film’s trifecta of festivals

This is due in large part to its rich history and the fact that it boasts having had notable filmmakers like Sean Baker, Damien Chazelle, Sarah Polley, Jason Reitman and Lucy Walker presenting films and conversations. In true Aspen Film fashion, this year’s program is rife with a global cross-section of film from over 30 countries.  The diversity of Shortsfest overall is in fact depicted within each program. As always, we are presenting a wide selection of film across various disciplines from animation and documentaries to comedies and dramas which open windows to other worlds and realms. Our Shorts program is representative of the distinctions we embrace and celebrate within our own community – with varied voices we bring together a chorus of creativity, and open up windows to a variety of faces and places that might be new, or just offer different perspectives.

*Stay tuned for Aspen Shortsfest 2019 festival dates (April TBD) and film submission deadlines.
